THE GALANO SWORD IN THE STONE Although this church and ruin on the outskirts of the village of Chiusdino, Italy is not one of the seven monasteries of St. Michael's Sword, the chapel of Saint Galgano at Montesiepi and the St. Galgano Abbey nearby are exactly on The Sacred Line. Here we find the story of Galgano Guidotti and his encounter with St. Michael in the 12th century. Of particular interest is Galgano's sword that is presently stuck in a stone enhrined in his church built to his honor. Legendarians have traced the King Authur legend to this sword in Chiusdion. We will visit this place. Here's a short BBC documentary about it and the Galgano legend.
And here is beautiful drone footage shot by Nicolo Trufio, who has agreed to license this footage for the main documentary, of San Galgano's church ruin that is still used today for local events, although there is no roof. It was sold years ago for the lead.
